71st Anniversary of Doolittle's Raid
This week we honor the daring mission of April 18, 1942, when 16 Mitchell B-25 bombers led by Col. Jimmy Doolittle launched from the USS Hornet to bomb Japan. Doolittle's Raid was a key morale boost for America, and forced Japan to shift resources that proved key in future Pacific battles like Midway. Revisit the compilation video produced in 2012, and also the Timeless Voices interviews with Raiders Dick Cole, Thomas Griffin, and USS Hornet deckhand Charles Hollingsworth.
