First NTSB GA Safety Video
The National Transportation Safety Board's first of five "video safety alerts" on GA safety was posted to the agency's YouTube channel this week, titled "Is Your Aircraft Talking to You? Listen!" The NTSB announced the series in March this year as part of its effort to reduce the number of GA accidents, which has plateaued over the last decade. Watch video >>

HondaJet HondaJet Coming to AirVenture
Honda Aircraft Company has confirmed the first public appearance of an FAA-conforming HondaJet at AirVenture. The company will hold a special event on opening day Monday, July 29, at 9:30 a.m. on Phillips 66 Plaza as the aircraft arrives at Wittman Regional Airport. Read more >>

Air Show Lineup Daily Air Show Lineup Now Available
The AirVenture Oshkosh 2013 daily and night air shows will feature the largest number of individual and team performers in the convention's 61-year history! And now the daily lineup and order of performers is available. You can see not only the day performers fly, but the order of each daily air show. This also includes both night air shows. AirVenture air shows are sponsored by Rockwell Collins. (The air show schedule is subject to change without notice.)

Unique Aircraft Unique Aircraft Flying at AirVenture
Along with thousands of departing and arriving aircraft throughout AirVenture week, numerous aircraft fly as a part of the event itself, and we're not just talking air shows. They're various warbirds, examples from the Replica Fighter Association, vintage, homebuilts, LSA, and more. You certainly won't see many of these planes flying together anywhere else but Oshkosh. Lark of Duluth Lark of Duluth Crash Likely Cancels Oshkosh Appearance
The Lark of Duluth reproduction of a Benoist Flying Boat Type XIV, the airplane that flew the world's first scheduled airline service a century ago, was significantly damaged during a test flight Tuesday morning on St. Louis Bay near Sky Harbor Airport in Duluth. Pilot and chief builder Mark Marino was not injured. Read more >>

LiveAirShowTV to Provide Live In-Flight Video During Air Shows
LiveAirShowTV announced it will provide live coverage of the action in the sky and on the ground during AirVenture 2013. Multiple plane-mounted cameras and ground-based cameras will capture the action and feed it to large LED screens located just south of the main taxiway at show center. Their positioning will provide views for attendees located up and down the flightline. Read more >>

SkyWest SkyWest to Interview Pilot Candidates at Oshkosh

ERAU to Host Seventh Annual Luncheon at AirVenture
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will host its seventh annual Lunch With Embry-Riddle during AirVenture on Friday, August 2, for those interested in pursuing careers in aviation and aerospace. Participants will dine with university administrators and students, and hear presentations on 21st-century aviation opportunities. Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. on August 2, followed by lunch from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Founders' Wing inside EAA AirVenture Museum. Register and learn more >>

Reminder to Attorneys: Continuing Legal Education Still Open
There are still spaces available for the free continuing legal education (CLE) seminar taking place 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, August 2, at AirVenture. Attorneys attending AirVenture are encouraged to sign up for the event via e-mail. This seminar satisfies the continuing legal education credit requirements for most states. It's being hosted by the EAA Legal Advisory Council, along with John and Kathy Yodice on behalf of the AOPA Legal Services Plan. Col. Stephen Woody, NTSB administrative law judge, is expected to attend and participate as well. Learn more >>

J. Mac McClellan Blog MAC'S BLOG: Landing on the Dot at Oshkosh
Flying to Oshkosh in less than two weeks is no different than any other trip - until you get close to the destination. There are brightly colored large dots painted on both Runways 9/27 and 18R/36L. Tower controllers can tell you to land on the numbers or on one of the dots so that more than one airplane can be safely spaced on the pavement at the same time.

Small Airplane Revitalization Act Passes House, Heads to Senate
The Small Airplane Revitalization Act, introduced in May by Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-KS), passed the House 411-0 and will now head to the Senate. The Senate bill is sponsored by Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN). The legislation would compel the FAA to adopt the recommendations presented by the Part 23 Reorganization Advisory and Rulemaking Committee, of which EAA was a member. Read more >>
