Forums-Presenters Presenters Sought for EAA AirVenture Forums
Although it's about four and a half months away from opening day, preparations for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2014 are in high gear to get ready for the big event scheduled for July 28-August 3. One thing that makes AirVenture the World's Greatest Aviation Celebration is the breadth and depth of our aviation forums - more than 500 world class presenters appear annually in the Forums Plaza, presented by Honda, and other select locations providing attendees with entertaining expert technical, education, and historical presentations. If you have a great presentation to share and would like to be considered as a speaker for 2014, we would love to hear from you. Please complete the online application by April 30, 2014. If you have any questions, please contact us via e-mail.

Runway 5K Registration Opens for Runway 5K
Pre-registration for the 10th annual Runway 5K Run/Walk is now open on the AirVenture website. This year's event, scheduled to take place on Saturday morning, August 2, begins and ends in the ultralight area, winding 3.1-miles around the EAA AirVenture grounds. Each registration includes free daily admission to AirVenture on Saturday, including the evening's Rockwell Collins Night Air Show. Proceeds from this year's run/walk go to the Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services Inc. agency of Oshkosh. Register today >>

Zenith Blog Update ZENITH BLOG: Paint Scheme a Tribute to Paul
We said last week that we'd unveil the paint scheme for our project. We are paying homage to Paul Poberezny by using the same colors and look as his prototype Acrosport. For the record (and thanks to EAA Librarian Sue Lurvey for digging into the archives to find it), the colors are Dakota Black, Insignia White, Lemon Yellow, and Bahama Blue. Read more >>

Heard This One Before? User Fees in White House Budget
The White House released its proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year and once again included a $100 per-flight user fee for many general aviation flights. The concept is almost exactly the same proposal that was rejected by Congress a year ago. Read more >>

Zenair Zenair Marks 40th Year in 2014
One of North America's leading manufacturers of recreational aircraft kits is turning 40 this year. Zenair Limited was founded by Chris Heintz in his 2-car garage in 1974; the company moved to its current 15,000 square foot facilities on the Huronia Airport (Ontario, Canada) over 30 years ago. Now directed by the founder's sons, the family-owned business makes complete kits for a number of popular 2 and 4-seat all-metal designs as well as light aircraft floats. Read more >>

FlyTheFord Tag it #FlyTheFord for Tri-Motor Tour Reports
We're all set to launch the spring leg of EAA's Ford Tri-Motor Tour on Friday, March 7, in Zephyrhills, Florida. And starting this year, EAA is introducing a new way to allow people who see or fly in the airplane to share their experiences, photos, and video with the social media world. Those visiting the tour stops are invited to use the hashtag #FlyTheFord when posting their experiences to sites such as Twitter and Facebook. Use of the hashtag allows higher visibility of EAA aircraft and activities through the expanding social media world. A similar hashtag will be established for the B-17 tour. Aviation Speaker Series Relive the Adventures of Early Aviation on March 20
Recently discovered photographs and audio recordings documenting the life and times of Bob Shank, one of America's first civilian airmail pilots, will be featured in EAA's Aviation Adventure Speaker Series Thursday, March 20, from 7-8:30 p.m. in the EAA AirVenture Museum's Founders' Wing in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Presented by EAA volunteer Fred Stadler, "Bob Shank - Pioneer American Pilot" will fascinate aviation enthusiasts and anyone interested in the development of America's 20th century industrial age. The presentation is free to the general public and is followed by a "beyond the ropes" museum tour. For more information, please call 920-426-6823.

Zenith Zenith Engine Day Slated for Sun 'n Fun
Zenith Aircraft Company will host its first "Engine Day" at the Sun 'n Fun International Fly-In & Expo on Friday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Lakeland, Florida. Zenith has invited all major manufacturers of 65 to 150 hp engines to participate by putting their firewall forward packages on display at the company's exhibit for Zenith kit customers and the public. Bonhomme Bonhomme Takes First Victory in Red Bull Return
The Red Bull Air Race World Championship returned from a three-year break in Abu Dhabi as reigning champion Britain's Paul Bonhomme outdistanced Austrian Hannes Arch and Canadian Pete McLeod. Bonhomme turned in an event-best 56.439 seconds in the final round to narrowly beat Arch's 56.776. Read more >>

EAA SportAir Workshops continues its full schedule of aircraft construction courses throughout the country with new locations continually being added to the 2014 schedule. We're excited to announce our latest additions, Fabric Covering with Lynn Bauer (featured on EAA's Aircraft Fabric Covering DVD), and Sheet Metal Basics with Mark Forss (featured on EAA's Sheet Metal for Kit Aircraft DVD), slated for May 5-6 at the Sun 'n Fun campus in Lakeland, Florida.

Family Flight Fest Family Flight Fest Welcomes 1,100
EAA welcomed more than 1,100 people to its annual Family Flight Fest event held last weekend at the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
