Since last week's activation of EAA's Rally Congress website, more than 9,200 EAA members have sent nearly 28,000 messages to their elected representatives urging their support of House Bill HR3708 and Senate Bill S2103 - the General Aviation Protection Act.

Chapter Flies 73 Young Eagles
In October 2013, EAA Chapter 1246 in McKinney, Texas, held a Young Eagles Rally at McKinney National Airport (TKI). Nine airplanes flew a total of 73 young people, and the chapter chronicled the event in the following video. Watch video >>

Young Eagles: You Could Earn Your Pilot Certificate for Free This Summer!
Tubreaux Aviation of Shreveport, Louisiana - a flight training facility that works with Young Eagles Chairman Sean D. Tucker - is helping to build the future of flight by offering a complete private pilot training experience to a previous EAA Young Eagle participant who is now 18-21 years old. This is a start-to-finish training program covering all lessons, requirements and flight time to earn a private pilot certificate. Textron Aviation Cessna, Beech, Hawker Now Fly Under Textron Aviation Banner
Textron Inc. announced March 14 it had closed on the acquisition of Beech Holdings, LLC, parent company of Beechcraft Corporation, and that it will bring together its Cessna business and Beechcraft to form a new segment called Textron Aviation. The company named Scott Ernest, who has served as Cessna's president/CEO since 2011, as Textron Aviation CEO. Read more >>

MIT Seeks Your Input on ADS-B, Weather Services
A team of researchers at MIT's International Center for Air Transportation is looking for input from GA pilots for its new study of automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) traffic and weather services to determine how pilots value and use them. ADS-B, a central component of the NextGen air traffic control modernization program, aims to improve traffic surveillance capabilities by sharing accurate aircraft position information between pilots and ATC. GAMA Plans Texas GA Jobs Rally
The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) will hold a GA jobs rally celebrating the industry's contributions to the economy on Friday, March 28, at Bombardier's Dallas service center located on Love Field in Dallas, Texas. U.S. Senator John Cornyn and U.S. Representatives Eddie Bernice Johnson, Sam Johnson, Pete Sessions, and Marc Veasey will be the featured speakers. Local industry representatives also in attendance will include Airbus Helicopters, Aviall, Bell Helicopter, Bombardier, Dallas Airmotive, Gulfstream, and Jet Aviation. Read more >>
