Boeing Boeing Ramps Up Participation at AirVenture
The Boeing Company will participate in this year's EAA AirVenture Oshkosh fly-in with a variety of activities, highlighted by sponsorship of the main showcase ramp at Oshkosh, which will now be known as "Boeing Plaza." One Week Wonder 'One Week Wonder' Rotax Engine on Its Way to Oshkosh
The Rotax 912 iS Sport engine that will be at the heart of this year's One Week Wonder project at EAA AirVenture is now on its way to Oshkosh. During the seven-day convention, volunteers will attempt to build a standard Zenith CH 750 Cruzer kit into a flying aircraft. The engine is expected to arrive on site July 23. Read more >>

Annual Meeting Audrey Poberezny, Earl Lawrence to Be Honored at EAA Annual Business Meeting
Audrey Poberezny, wife of EAA's late founder Paul Poberezny and one of the organization’s major contributors in her own right, will be honored with EAA's Freedom of Flight Award - the association’s highest honor - during the annual EAA member business meeting on Wednesday, July 30, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Read more >>

George Koontz Koontz to Receive Bill Barber Award for Showmanship
Greg Koontz has been named the recipient of this year's Bill Barber Award for Showmanship, according to World Airshow News, and will be presented with the award in front of his peers at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh on Tuesday, July 29, at Theater in the Woods. Read more >>

Air Show Schedule See AirVenture Oshkosh Daily Air Show Lineup
The schedule for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2014 daily air shows is now available. The roster includes not only the day the performers fly, but the tentative order of each day's performance, including both Wednesday and Saturday night air shows. AirVenture air shows are sponsored by Rockwell Collins. (The air show schedule is subject to change without notice.)

Throughout the convention visitors will have an opportunity to reserve a seat aboard a helicopter and get grand aerial views of the World's Greatest Aviation Celebration. There is, of course, weather to check, NOTAMs, and routing to plan for the flight to Oshkosh. But many pilots will spend about as much time researching fuel prices at airports along the way. There are dozens of web outlets that post airport fuel prices, and I'm sure you have your favorite. Some sources are more accurate than others mostly because they are updated frequently. Aviation fuel prices jump around like crazy so information more than a couple days old may be wildly inaccurate.

The best way to make sure you are ready for your final airworthiness inspection is to have an EAA Technical Counselor have a final look before the FAA inspector arrives. Sonex SubSonex JSX-2 Jet Makes First Flights
"Fast and smooth." Those were the words test pilot Bob Carlton had after making the first flights in Sonex's new SubSonex Personal Jet model JSX-2, which took place at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh on July 10. "She handles great and climbs well," he said. Read more >>

Ed McCallum British Pilot Flies Microlight to Oshkosh
Edward "Eddie" McCallum, EAA 1134927, of Longframlington, England, touched down in Oshkosh at about 10:00 Friday morning after flying his Flight Design CT-SW microlight here all the way from England. Eddie departed Wick, Scotland, on June 11, and proceeded past the Faroe Islands to Iceland, then Greenland and over to Canada - where he met up with his wife and spent a couple of weeks before proceeding to the United States. Funding Sought for Texas Airport Crosswind Runway
Fort Worth Meacham International Airport's aviation advisory board meets Thursday night (tonight) in Texas to discuss the current status of funding and operational impact of the crosswind runway, 9/27. Airport management is soliciting funding to ensure the runway’s continued operation but has been unsuccessful in its efforts to secure any grant funding and would like to work with EAA members to convince the FAA and Texas Department of Transportation that the crosswind runway is worth saving. GA Survey Enters Round 2
The second batch of annual General Aviation and Part 135 Activity Survey postcards will be mailed this week according to Tetra Tech, a third-party research firm conducting the survey on behalf of the FAA. The GA Survey will report on calendar year 2013 activities and is the only source of information on the GA fleet, including the number of hours flown and the various ways people use general aviation aircraft.
