Weekend Work Parties Help Needed to Prepare for AirVenture
We're looking for people who love having an insider's view of how EAA and AirVenture Oshkosh work or looking to give back to their community. One of the best ways is through the spring and summer Weekend Work Parties on the AirVenture Oshkosh grounds. Spend a weekend day or two with us in Oshkosh and you'll get that insider's view, while meeting some other great EAA members and knowing that you help build The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration. The work varies but can include carpentry, grass cutting, painting, gardening, general maintenance, and things we probably haven't thought of yet. Read more >>

By Dick Knapinski, EAA 494456, Senior Communications

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds' announcement last December that Oshkosh was on its 2014 schedule brought a lot of excitement to those coming to AirVenture this summer, but it also created some unusual logistics challenges for EAA and Wittman Regional Airport. The solution was community cooperation and creative thinking to make it possible. Read more >>

KidVenture KidVenture Updates for 2014
By Bret Steffen, EAA Lifetime 870589, Director of Education

KidVenture continues to grow and develop because of the energy and passion of EAA volunteers. Now in its 16th year, KidVenture will have a different look and a campus feel in 2014. The hands-on activities for youth are fun while demonstrating skills needed to fly and build aircraft. Read more >>

Volunteer Center We Don't Got Milk, But We Got Volunteers!
By Patti Bennett, EAA 1012172, Volunteer Chair of the Volunteer Center and member of the VAC

Seriously, the Camp Scholler Volunteer Center has hundreds of Volunteers that come to our window every year. Some volunteers only have a few hours to share while others have the entire week (and prior week) to share. We try to find a place for all of them - including those that are looking to find a new "home" in which to volunteer if they’re ready for a change of assignments.

Resources for AirVenture Oshkosh
By Jessica Luft, EAA 1084418, Sr Human Resources Business Partner

July weather in Wisconsin can be unpredictable. EAA works very closely with Winnebago County Emergency Management, in conjunction with the National Weather Service, to ensure weather conditions are monitored and communicated promptly. The National Weather Service has designated the AirVenture grounds as a "Storm Ready" site, one of the few major events and facilities in Wisconsin to earn that designation. It means that EAA has fulfilled the necessary planning to keep people safe in the event of severe weather. Read more >>
